Prof. Dr Luis Castanheira

Luís Castanheira is a Professor of higher education at the Department of Education Sciences and Supervision of School of Education at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), Portugal from February 2003 and is an Integrated member of the Researcher Centre in Basic Education of the IPB. Was a Invited professor at University Aurel Vlaicu at Arad Romania between 2016 and 2020. Her Main area of research interest is Supervision in Education, Special Education Needs, History of education, Early Childhood Education; Have a PhD. Doctor of Education – area of specialization in history of education at the Institute of Education University of Lisbon. Have a Advanced Training Course of the PhD program in history of education – area of specialization in history of education of the Faculty of psychology and educational sciences of the University of Lisbon; He have a Master’s degree in education – area of specialization in history of education in the Faculty of psychology and educational sciences of the University of Lisbon. Have a Superior Studies Specialized degree in special education: – primary option: Intellectual Problems, motors, Multiple difficulties; -Complementary Option: hearing problems. In the school of education Jean Piaget Arcozelo-Vila Nova de Gaia – Porto; Have a Bachelor Degree in Preschool Education, in School of Education at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.Currently he is Member of the scientific technical council of School of Education at IPB; He is Director of Professional Higher Technician course of follow-up of children and young people, at School of Education of IPB; Member of the direction of the Masters Course in Pre-school Education of Education School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança; Member of the direction of the Masters Course in Pre-school Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education of the Education School of the IPB; Member of the Scientific Committee of the Master’s Degree in Pre-school Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education; Member of the Pedagogical Committee of the School of at School of Education at IPB; He was International mobility Coordinator, of the School of Education at IPB, since February 2010 until December 2019; He was a Coordinator of Recreational Space for children at School of Education at IPB, since September 2003 and December 2010; Pedagogical Coordinator of the kindergarten name`s “Malta Gira” from the city of Vila Real and Santos Mártires in Bragança; He has participated and participates in several national and international projects, such as: Care Project – Enhancing Early Childhood Education and Care in Palestine, TUT4IND Project; Teacher Training Program for Pre-school teachers Supervisor and Mentor in São Tomé e Príncipe; Telespa Project; Demola Project; EYDP project; He has several articles published in various international journals, a reviewer of articles, and a member of the editorial board of several journals.
